Hi all

I think Nicko or Dr. Slack mentioned this before, but I can't remember if it was them or someone else.

I'm building a hi-fi amp inspired by Douglas Self's Blameless topology, and I've got to the stage where I need a case to put it in. I have a few boxes, heatsinks and so on, but they're all the wrong size and shape and I can't figure out how to use them.

My amp has four TO-3P output devices per channel, a toroidal transformer of about 250VA and a couple of large can caps. Does anyone have a case to spare that would fit all this, with fins suitable for natural convection cooling?

Or do you know where I could buy one?

Thanks, Steve

I Googled: Heatsink Case

These are meant for a pc, look the part, but are very pricey Link2

How about using the case from a second hand amp off eBay?

Alan

So what did you use as a case in the end?

I used to get Wireless World back when Douglas Self was publishing his Blameless amp article series. It's got to be the one I'd build if I ever get around to it... But what on earth would you do for Blameless speakers?

I'm in the process of ordering one from THLAudio in Taiwan.

(their PWAD-A40)

Seems like a bit of a gamble, I'll let you know if it ever arrives smile
