Yeah, where did it go? Last I heard, it was with "Plasma Lover".

On the UK one, mea culpa sad

Its in my workshop, waiting for me to add to it. As I am now wracked with guilt, I'll add some nice BIG 500V capacitors to it, along with some other scary things... I might even charge the caps before putting them in... amazed

Cheers

Hey it's still there Nicko, no hard feelings. On the other hand Kizmo has some problems in finding enough money to send it forward. It might be a wise option and go with the centralized box like the one in the USA. After the first round of the EU one I'll take it and run a centralized box repository with it. At least if it's ok with everyone.

The US box has evidently been completely lost. Plasma Lover posted to the old thread, here, explaining that his parents had thrown away most of the box's contents. He apparently still has a few items, including the log book, but has so far refused to communicate any further with me about returning any of the contents. You're all welcome to attempt to contact him, here: Link2 If any of you know any alternate methods of contacting him, please ask him to get in touch with me. At the very least, I'd like to get the log book returned.

At any rate, the new US box is now pretty much loss-proof, and unlimited in size. If we can bulk up its contents a bit more, it should prove even more valuable to the community than the last ill-fated box. As I mentioned elsewhere, I'd like to get similar boxes going in each major geographical region, as well as a freebie list for people who'd rather donate or swap directly.

As for the other two, we know Nicko has the UK box safe and sound. The EU box is with Kizmo, and we're hoping that one can get moving again soon. It'll be up to the participants in those regions to decide if the boxes should continue being passed around, or if a centralized option might work better.

I'd still be happy to host a central 'box' for the UK, there's plenty of 'junk' here already to go in it smile

I will definitely be sending more stuff soon.
Just bogged down with tons of orders to fill right now, but once i get caught up with that stuff, i should be able to pack another 1-2 boxes full of stuff.

May even throw a really nice brand new 70kv triggered spark gap in there which maybe you should auction off to make some revenue for the forum.

Excellent. It should be in great shape soon. I still have a lot of my own stuff to go through and see what can go into the box. Dave Marshall has also pledged some junk.

I think we might be able to donate some stuff from the other boxes to fill up the USA one. If we get them back . . .
