but why only 100 watts? don't you need 1/2 the wattage input for 100% mod?
The mot core is for 60 Hz. No filament winding on a MOT is going to carry any wattage greater than needed to light the tube:
However if you wish to smoke it and a high power music amp, feel free. Post pics, though.

then why couldn't you use the mot primary instead of the fila. winding?

Recently there was another thread dealing with using non audio iron core transformers for audio.
