So I'm in the Co-Rec the other day, and I saw some people using stationary bikes with TV screens of a 1st person bike ride in front of them. I thought to myself (its summer, why not go outside?) that its bourgeois because it's not very interactive, and it could be...
I give you, Warcraft pedals!! This is half of a recument stationary bike from Goodwill, with a magnet stuck to the resistance plate (its one of the magnetic resistance jobs). The magnet passes a reed relay, which closes it and triggers a 555. The 555 output turns 'on' a transistor attached to the contacts on a slavaged keyboard circuit corresponding to the 'W' key.
The result is a set of pedals which control a WoW (or any game with 'w' as the walk key) character with speed proportional to the rate of pedalling.
Now, all I need to find is a fat camp to buy them and I'll be rich!

E. Make sure each post has a point. Unless you're in the chatting board, there's no need for a one-liner post that doesn't have any real content. Save the one-liners and offhanded comments for private messages.
Okay, now we're over sausage-fingers and stuff, can we have some real replies?

I doubt it, its too silly. The only place this is going, I'm afraid, is my closet. I had to share it somewhere, however, to make the effort worthwhile. a

You should hook it up to your joystick port for variable speed movement. This would require more complex circuitry. The faster you petal the faster the player moves.
