heh.. Now where's my UMA (Uncommitted Memristor Array".. grr...
Interestingly the screen on an e-reader can exhibit hybrid memristor-like behaviour, in that the capacitance changes depending on the screen state, I measured it with the Esquire magazine material.
This opens the door to experimenting with these things at home, as the same screen has dozens of "pixels" of identical areas.
As a side note, this effect can also be seen with:- copper nanoscale batteries, ZBD (zenithal bistable device) displays, and several other systems. Variable resistance with applied voltage has been around a lot longer that we think, in the form of rechargeable batteries. Ironically, they could have build this device back in the 1940's had they known about titanium dioxide...
