I haven't used that particular capacitor, but I can say it is common in (expensive) copper pieces to add a stainless 'helicoil' in every tapped hole--due to the fact that copper is very soft and can easily be stripped out. This in mind, I would say your guess that it is designed to be bolted to another plate is probably correct That makes sense. I have a connection solution that works now. I am out of town, but I do promise to post pictures of everything when it gets going. My goal is to levitate solid steel and copper while melting them. If anyone has followed some of the other induction-related threads of mine, you should know that I got my system to levitate aluminum and hollowed copper pieces while boiling them. Solid steel and copper were too dense for my weak 2kw unit. I am hoping that 6-8kw will be enough.
