Don't go wasting your money on one of those things that looks like a large yellow brick with a handle on it!
Here's the biz in your home state:
Uranium Miners in Oregon, 1954.
The good news for prospecting is that the White King and Lucky Lass uranium mines, (now located in Freemont National Forest, 15 miles from Lakeview) were of the opencast type, which usually means much easier access to samples than a terrifying descent, with rickety ladders, and crumbling adits.
There's a map showing the tailings, mill, and evaporation ponds, etc here:

I have this for recreational Uranium prospecting.
Lakeview is also near the site where one collects the Sunstone, Oregon's State Gem. It surprising that there would be Uranium mines in that area, its Basin and Range territory, big Flood Basalt block fault upthrusts, not ancient sediments.

There looks to be some interesting U minerals around Lakeview - zeunerite Cu(UO2)2(AsO4)2•10-16(H2O). and heinrichite Ba(UO2)2(AsO4)2 8H2O
"The design of the Lakeview mill was similar to that of the uranium mill at Gunnison, Colorado, but included changes in its circuitry in order to treat the Lakeview district ores that contain uranium-arsenate and molybdenum-, antimony-, and other sulfide minerals."
There is a detailed account, with local map, of the White King Mine here:
