Poor fellow.
One wonders how something like this can happen with all the fly-by-wire and safeguards on modern aircraft.

I live in Poland and this i big tragedy for us, we lost a lot of important peoples from our government
The Polish airlines have TU-154's before 1993, but two of them, (now only one neutral) work as government plane to novadays. TU-154 is able to flight without visibility but this plane was designed before 1968. I think that we could avoid this crash by buying new, modern planes, but government dont even think abou this (probably from financial reasons). I hope that they will draw a conclusions and make some steps to improve safety and there will be no more accidents like this in the future.

What a dreadful, awful thing, Pylon.

I bought Andrzej Wajda's film Katyń only last week from Amazon, and what has just happened comes like an aftershock of that terrible massacre.

The fact that Vladimir Vladimirovich has only accepted limited responsibility for the crimes of 'The Great Father and Teacher,' yet flew to Poland to
attend the memorial event can not have helped the grim feelings around this disaster.

History is really strange.
In 1940 over 21000 Polish citizens was murdered in Katyn and now exactly after 70years and almost exactly in same place (about 18km from graves of Polish citizens) in plane crash dies president and many persons important for our country.
Another intresing thing- in 2008 in plane crash (plane- CASA C-295 was much smaller than TU-154) dies many important persons for our airforces. Then was public debate about travelling so much important persons in one plane. Perhaps they didn't draw right conclusions.
