After burning out my single transistor driver, I decided to try building a 555 driver for my flyback. I found this schematic online which doesn't seem too complicated.
Has anyone had experience using this driver? I noticed that the primary coil in this circuit is connected straight from Vin to Ground. How will the 555 waveform reach the primary?

Obviously wrong schematic. The ground of the power supply is at the other end of the big capacitor. It's usual to put a capacitor (100 nF) between pin 5 and ground (pin 1) of the 555. FET and primary turns not specified.
