hello all, for my Senior Project ROVs, the control panel is interfaced with the computer using my Elexol USB I/O 24 module. I have used this with great success in the past, however it has just been sitting around for a while. the device works, and I tested it using the device testing program
however, and this is screwing me unless I get some help: Microsoft has significantly upgraded the Visual Basic Programming Language in regards to Serial since I last used the thing, and while I had some success a while back with the new code, I have lost everything including my skeleton code I wrote to make the device work with the newer VB Studio.

I really can't figure it out this time. I might be able to given a week, but I have to start construction on the physical unit at this point.
my code simply needs to poll the pins for an at most two inputs at a time (the matrix keypad takes two pins registering as HIGH to trigger a command to the ROV). I have no problem with my code other than this one.
Anyone think they can explain the new way to implement this code? - the elexol website is not up to date with code

took a break from the code for a while to work on the actual sub, but I am still getting errors - I consulted with my project adviser and he agrees that I should wait to sort out the custom controls until after getting the sub and primary programming up and running
I will post back here once I get more code written
