I am told by the producer that my segment filmed for US Discovery Channel will be shown on US TV in a slot just before the Mythbusters season premiere. It is a 3 part pilot called "Is it possible". I gather I have two segments of 3.5 mins each in the 1 hour program although not sure if is in the first segment as it was originally planned for the 3rd. Anyway, it will feature my usual Tesla coil stuff and I also do the pool segment with sparks onto my head. The other part will be exploding watermelons with 10kJ.
Details are here. It was a long 14 hour single day shoot that finished at 2am. My good wife who normally becomes stern if I make noise after 9pm was even more stern by then. She went over the next morning to give placatory chocolates to the neighbors who explained that they were out of town and heard nothing.
If someone does catch it on DVD I would be interested in seeing it

I can record it on my DVR. My ability to transfer from that is limited to pretty low quality, but I should be able to capture it and send it to you, though its just as likely to appear on the torrent sites after it's aired.

That is awesome! I will sure try to catch it! Is it nice to have the bit of fame you have? You have sure earned it, Peter.
Dave Marshall, you can take something that has been saved onto your DVR and upload it to some device? Or are you going to use a video recorder? I ask because of the odd USB port on our DVR.
Also, i have no idea where it will be, the time slot before the season premiere of Mythbusters is mythbusters, so i have no idea where your bit will fit in at? Is it during a commercial break?

The website here says 10:00 ET on Discovery Channel.
And fame? On my Open Day, I was putting out one of my newspaper cuttings which was a double page centerfold of my Modern Thinker from the Guardian Newspaper in the UK. It has a closeup of sparks from my shoe to ground. I had the actual shoe on display with a sign saying this shoe is famous. My wife said:"that old shoe with the hole in it is not famous. Paris Hilton's shoes are famous!" ...... sigh. So much of a role model to aspire to.

Sounds sweat! I'd record it but sadly I don't know how to work my dads TV tuner to save it as a MP4 or something, sorry :( Looking forward to seeing it, thanks for the heads up!

Has anyone here found more details on the show from the producer (Thunderbird Films) or Discovery Channel?
Not to hijack Peter's thread, but the snake robot segment (no pun intended) is something I also want to watch. There are many makers of robotic snakes. Years ago I attended a presentation by this one: Note that his S7 generation uses no wheels on the ground. The animated simulations are pretty.
