I've live way out in the woods. To demonstrate, we got "city water" two years ago, and had a store/pizzeria/deli/gas station/bait shop/deer tag depot/butchery/hardware store (smaller than an average 7-11 mind you) but it has been closed for over a year. It opens for a few months about every 5 years, and closes again. That's what was in it last time. We've got a new stopsign, I think that makes three. cheesey

Anyway, when my parents moved out here, they unwittingly moved into the lot next to the local 'crims. angry They are over a hill and about an 1/8mi away, but we continuously hear wierd things coming from their house. Not a week goes by without hearing somebody yelling and shooting. We know they've been busted for drug manufacturing, stealing cars and 'chopping' them, and other various noble deeds. They beat each other up all the time too, I'm on the local fire department, and we have to run rescue runs on them. Then they're all drunk and refuse to go to the hospital even though they may be bleeding through both ears. One of them accidently ran off the road on his motorcycle and ran into the ditch at our gate. He was so drunk he didn't know his neck was broken(he's the same one with the ear bit off, how I don't know). A few months ago their "new" mobile home blew up. confused Unfortunately I wasn't home to see it. sad

Currently, I think they're out of jail becuase the jails are full, but we heard the cops over there yelling stuff over bullhorns the other day, "Come out, Come out where-eeeever you are!" My dad busted out laughing when he heard that. They've been quiet for a few days, I wonder what happened. Sometimes they give me the creeps, sometimes they just really make me laugh.

Anybody else with creepy neighbors or maybe realitives?

I don't have scary neighbors. My neighbors do, though. Some guy discharging high voltage capacitors (often straight into the house ground) and firing guns inside the apartment. cheesey

Same here, I was going to say cheesey

I think the amount of TV interference the neighbours have to put up with, they must wonder what goes on next door.

I wonder if they have touch sensitive lights, the lights in my parents room flash on and off random brightness settings when I'm running one of my SSTCs. The neighbours main bedroom is even closer, just an amusing thought for when I'm messing about in the early hours cheesey

One of my neighbors has two huge wolf-dogs, and an old army medical wagon in his driveway. An accused nutcase, always taking his dogs on walks around the neighborhood, and constantly mumbling to them incoherently. Occasionaly, you can find him listening to a small radio in his army wagon. Scary? Not quite, but still pretty strange.

I'm the scarry neighbor.

Were an end unit in a townhome complex. My neighbor is an ex code enforcement officer and good friend. The chief stopped by in his pickup in plain clothes and they started talking while I was working in my garage. I felt better when nobody cared to say anything or ask any questions. I have some gas cylinders tied to a wall, big thick cabinets, glassware in places, so all I have to do is put on the lab coat and respirator and here comes a full investigation!

I was doing some chem., I forget what, and the fire dept. showed up about an hour later when I was playing with one of my early TC's. They had a look around, and one guy decided to look at my big brn. jugs next to my closed chem. desk. It was a pretty close call. He was looking at my HCl jug, and checking it out. It's always wise to label! Especially if HAZMAT comes by and starts giving you a hard time.

I'm pretty glad the cabinet didn't swing open, not because there are commercially available products in there, but because, well, its just dammed suspicious. And then they'd want to know what's in the other 'blast' cabinet. Even though Im under the weight statutes, they still might want to fine me for some chemicals. They also wouldn't be too happy about all the Mg I have in storage.

Aside frome the 'once in a whiles', I try to keep things quiet. It stresses me a lot less.
