Hi all. Just acquired from a WEEE bin a batch of used industrial PP3's.
these are alkaline but may still work (average voltage is around 8V) any ideas? i thought maybe put them in series and use for electrochemical experiments? these would also be amusing for use as an emergency laptop charger as connecting 16 in series would probably be enough (barely) to run a small notebook.

One thing to do is open one and see if it is made from 6 smaller tiny unicells. One thing I found is with weak batteries, only several cells were higher resistance, leaving the rest usable for apps needing small batteries. Do avoid considering what quanitity of joules would cause the center metal to be a projectile.

Connect them all in series just using their built in end connectors.
