1. One used good condition Varian D-90 / Alcatel 2004a,
2. One almost new Dayton 3CFM, 2 stage rotary high vacuum pump for sale.
3. One new all glass VWR Scientific Diffusion pump:
The Varian has more hours, but it works great, and is not in need of a rebuild. The only flaw is one Al cooling fin is missing about 1cm of a corner, when it broke during shipping, this does NOT affect the function of the pump, and I saved the corner for you. I will let this pump go for $175.00 plus shipping, to forum members only. This is even below the wholesale buyback from vendors, for this pump. This is not a refrigeration service pump, which is only designed for occasional 1-2 Hr at a time use. This pump is built for cont. use, and it features a built in nifty anti-suck back valve. The pump is an Alcatel 2004a made for Varian to their specs. The inlet, and outlets are standard KF-25 fittings. You will never find a high quality pump this cheap again
The Dayton is a 2 stage 3 CFM rotary pump, with less than 16Hr on it, see the Grainger catalog for details. I will guarantee it to pull below its factory rated 50 microns, with good oil, and ballast closed. It comes with a 3/8 inch hose barb inlet. This pump can be yours for $85.00 plus shipping. Here is an economical way for you to get into HV vacuum phenomena, on a low budget with basically an almost new pump, with only a few hours. The pump has some external aging, this means that it is not banged up in any way, but it does not look like it just came out of the box either, due to some dust, dirt film etc. It was ALWAYS filled with fresh oil before being stored, after the 3-4 times that it was used. The pump does have a built it gas ballast mechanism like the Varian, for high H2O vapor evacuation. This introduces a tiny amount of air into the compression cycle to keep water vapor from condensing into the pump oil. With the ballast open it will pull down to about 100-150 microns.
The shipping on both pumps is about $40 via USPS due to their weight. I am also going to list them on ebay soon, I just wanted to do forum members a favor first. Either one of these pumps will back a small diffusion pump, or a small turbo pump. Both pumps will handle plasma tube evacuation, with just the mechanical pumps vacuum..
Finally I have one new all glass VWR Scientific Diffusion pump for sale, for those folks who want to build an fusor, accelerator, or x-ray level high vacuum setup. It will run on either 50cc of oil, or mercury. I am asking 95.00 plus shipping for this pump.
