I'm here to report my experience with .
I bought the ~11 lb spool of 32 gauge magnet wire, and (as said in a review under the account's name, which is my mother's) found a dent in the wire. Thinking it would be fine, I was a good way into winding my coil (almost done...) when I found some kind of junk stuck to the wire. After scratching it off, I found that the enamel had come off with it.
On the bright side, I've developed a good way to test the insulation on magnet wire, consisting of wrapping the uninsulated end of the wire around an ohmmeter probe, then holding the other probe in my hand, while gripping the wire between the fingers on my other hand and running it down the suspected area of damaged insulation. If the ohmmeter shows a resistance (it has to have a range wide enough to read your body's resistance, hand to hand) then you're wire's messed up.
In any case, I'm going to recommend getting your wire elsewhere!

Actually, carefully wrapping a single layer of scotch tape around the affected area may have been a better idea than unwrapping the entire coil...........

If it's 1 single turn that's lost its insulation, you can still use the secondary. Just be sure to put enough varnish/coating on the wire.
On my 4.5" sgtc, I accidentally knocked the secondary winding against something, denting the wire a bit and scraping off the insulation of not one, but 4 adjacent windings! I continued to coat it with polyurethane varnish until i couldn't feel the windings anymore, and it works just fine.
I was only able to do this because the insulation was removed only on the front of the wire, not the sides touching each other.

I wasn't sure if the damage was limited to one side or not, so I scrapped it. As I'm sure there will be plenty of unknown weak spots in my coil, didn't need a known one on top of them.
