Hello all, I found these :
Do they look to be good for vttc tank capacitor duty? Incase wondering, I am planning an 833a based VTTC. I notice the ad states that they are no good for tesla coils, but I am assuming they mean for SGTC (10kV is low for the average SGTC). I have seen others use the same type capacitor (strontium titanate) so I thought id ask the more experienced users here. Matt

Well, they state max. working current of 25A. In a VTTC with a resonant frequency of 250kHz, 4kV ac on cap (doubled MOT), the current comes to ca. 14 amps which is below the max rating, so I would say they are suitable. And that's if the coil ran from smoothed doubled MOT (or 2x MOT in series), usually we use a halfwave doubler so the average current through the cap will be a lot less.
