Absolutely. That sounds like the best summer job I can think of. I definately didn't make $375 a week when I was in high school, and that was doing a job I didn't care for. You should definately try for it.

Well im asking because i applied awhile ago, and just got an email offering a position. Although they do pay 3000 dollars, i have to get my own housing, food, transportation, etc. (I am in Colorado, this is in DC). This isn't so much a job, but an internship.

If you're fairly frugal about where you stay and what you eat, and book some flights early, you could walk away with 1/3 to 1/2 of that $3k. But look at it as a learning experience and the chance to meet people and do interesting things, rather than just from a money point of view.

Is it the kind of area you could see yourself working in after college? If so, go for it. I'm sure you would learn a lot and get valuable experience that would look great on a resume, and maybe lead to internships during college. If you're not that excited about the prospect, then pass and leave it for someone who is ;)

It's always hard to say what you want to do when you grow up, especially if you're not there yet. I say go for it; knowing what you don't like helps you figure out what you do. I think you have nothing to lose by doing it.

I live just outside of DC (temporarily displaced right now) and I can tell you it's an expensive place to live. I'm assuming you're less than 18 since this is for high school students, correct? If that's the case it seems to me they would have to make some type of provisions for you. If not, then that could be a big stumbling block.
