I personally couldnt imagine getting a scope without a usb port on it so you can save the data and put it on a computer. Some of the older scopes did allows for a serial cable out to a computer and could use a program called wavestar or something like that, but it was really slow. I would take being able to pull data off of it over more channels any day of the week.

Yes and yes. Actually, you can capture the signal before the trigger, too. This is done automatically by continually recording the signal in a buffer and then saving data before the trigger. Very handy.

The Rigols seem to be pretty good scopes. Plenty of features for most projects and cheap enough to buy new. I've had such bad luck with used scopes that I just took the plunge and bought one of the Rigols. It's definately worth the money in my opinion.

If I just use one channel, can you expand it to the whol screen? How reliable is yours?

that look like a great scope for 1600$ you should be able to switch on how ever many channels you want up to 4. the data sheet is hear that scope has all of the fetures that my tekronix 3034b has including FFT for specrtum mesuring and advanced triggering.

I have the 2 Channel version of that scope. Yes, you can adjust the scale to whatever you like. I was looking at the 4 channel version but when I bought mine it was > 2x the price. That didn't make a whole lot of sense to me so I just went with the 2 channel. Like teravolt said, it has plenty of features. I've haven't needed it to do anything it couldn't yet. It comes with a 1 year warranty if you do have any trouble. All together I'm happy with it.
I bought mine from tequipment.net. They have a 10% educational discount if you're in school, so I ended up getting mine for about $650.
