I understand that a lot of areas have been hit with far more snow than they usually see. I also understand that they have fewer plows and salt trucks available to clear the roads in places like DC than they do here.
That being said, I can't help but laugh uncontrollably every time someone says the word 'Snowmageddon'. I'm about 35 miles south of Jrz126. Snowfall that brought DC to it's knees for a week wouldn't even get the school kids a snow-day here. I've seen snowfalls here in NW PA of close to 3 feet in a single night. We had a 2 hour delay in our school district. This time of year, I'm driving on roads with 4 inches of powder on them at least one day a week. I'm driving on roads with an inch of packed ice pretty much from November through April. Snow tires are a plus, but I don't have them on my rear-wheel drive truck, and I do just fine most times.
I'm sorry, but until you've seen 9 feet of accumulated snow with drifts approaching 18 feet deep, I really can't find any sympathy :P

I prefer the cold, because when it gets hot here, it gets HOT. 115 F is no fun . And since the grass grows really fast in the summer, there is plenty of work to have to do out there. Unless it is 110 degrees or over and you have to do lotta yard work, i really cannot sympathize
And Chris, that post made me and my little brother laugh like girls
