Hi! First post here :)
I have a project, to build a tesla coil. And SGTC seems to be the most appropriate to begin with. But then also a few question has come up.
The secondary coil is all done in its calculations. But when I was to begin with the caps, I read somewhere that the LTR (Larger Than Resonant) should be 1.5 higher.. What do they mean with that? And also I heard that voltage rating of the caps should be twice of the voltage output. Should they?
And I've noticed that I can connect the caps/spark gap diffrently, but that isn't any big diffrent between these two. But should you have a safty gap if I already have a spark gap in parallell with the transformer?
Hope you can cope my englsih.. It isn't my main ;)
