any updates? i have the same problem. i dont know how to hook audio source to the modulator (schematic from reaching1. his 4mhz audiodoulated sstc) i tried yellow and red, but nothing happened. tried to swap but nothing happened. audio source is n95 8 gig.

when you say "yellow and red" do you mean from the TRS connector? - if so, that might be your problem, for a lot of cables the ground is not in one the colored wires but in the bare copper wire twisted around them. One of those wires would be the left or right channel, but you also need the ground. If it is a "mono" type cable then one should be the ground and that means you have another problem.

as for the topic of cable interference, if you take about 15 min you can make an Optical Audio Isolation on the cheap that will keep spikes from the MP3 player and keep the audio pretty clean considering the setup. Go here and follow the instructions, and you would merge the audio channels before going into the laser
a change I would make to the design is to instead of using a solar cell, use a photoresistor, a battery, and a potentiometer to adjust the threshold

it might work for what you need, and if you wanted you could throw in a fiber cable to even hold the unit+mp3 in your hand because it is small and light and not have alignment issues.

yes, from TRS connector (ear phone), i cut the wire removing the small speaker. it has only 1 red wire and 1 bare wire connected to each small speaker. i connect the bare wire and red wire to the modulator but it didnt work. Am I doing something wrong here?

The music modulation of TCs shows we have come full circle since Fessenden connected a carbon microphone into the aerial of a station to play Christmas music.

Have any tests been done along the lines of Dr. Pat Flanagans Neurophone to see if someone , in the field, not seeing or hearing the spark display, can somehow hear the music?

my connector doesn't have coaxial cable, it is just an insulation jacket made from rubber and inside there are the three collored wires, so I can have a mono system for the modulator, what Im going to do is take either red or yellow (left, right) and connect them to the modulator with green (yellow green, red green (thats a show)). so the positive input for the op amp IC will either be left to ground or right to ground, I dont really care as long as there is an audio input,

on a side note, Ill probably put a voltage comparator in parralel with the input and have that connected to a strobe, so when the TC plays, the strobe will flash with the music.
