You mentioned on your post on photonlexicon that you were having issues getting the filament voltage right--if you need to 'fine tune' the filament voltage you can do 2 simple things: 1. Add more wire between the transformer and the filament. With the amount of current it draws even a foot or two can cause a significant voltage drop. 2. If that seems like too much of a kludge, you can wind more turns around the torrid, and then connect them in series with the primary. Be careful with the direction, adding turns in one direction will increase the output voltage (and probably cause the core to saturate), and if you reverse the polarity it will decrease the output voltage. There is probably about 200 turns on that toroid, so even adding a few turns can made a 10-20% difference in output voltage.

A small update again:
Next is to put the psu in a proper home and add the neccesary circuits such as preheat timer, interlocks, a proper automatic softstart and a proper power supply for the fans and the control circuit.
