I'm not selling them myself, but I did order one set of CO2 Laser Cavity Mirrors off eBay. These mirrors seem suitable for a DIY CO2 laser. The cheapest mirrors I have been able to find before would run around $150.

Again, I'm not related in any way to the seller other than as a purchaser of their product.

The reflectance of the output coupler (92%) seems high. Most 30 to 50 watt lasers designs I have seen recommends about 85% reflectance.

Well, I chose the mirrors based on the design I found on this website: http://www.timefracture.org/laser.html.

This design used a 92% OC. Once I hit a slow spot with my high voltage experimentation, I plan to implement this particular design.

You may want to review Sam's FAQ in detail:

Link2

The FAQ provides tables of optimal reflectance for the tube length/tube inside diameter configuration.

For example, the design in the Timefracture website is a 1.2 meter tube. For a 15mm ID tube, the theoretical reflectance is 65%.

A 92% mirror will work, however, if you want more power, you will quickly outgrow the 92% reflectance mirror.

Another point of reference:

Link2

specifies an 80% reflectance output coupler.

Just trying to help.

No problem, I (and I'm sure others as well) appreciate the additional information.

BTW, do you have any favorite sources for mirrors/couplers with reasonable prices? I jumped at this set because it seemed relatively cheap.

Thanks,

RickR

I have purchased several CO2 laser optics from:

Link2

The owner is Bruce Sunderland. Bruce has been very helpful with advice and supports those who are making CO2 lasers as a hobby.

His prices are competitive. Bruce is also mentioned in Sam's FAQ.

Not to derail, but if you don't trust ebay, Link2 is a commercial optics website that caters to high level stuff. Expensive though, but they'll certainly carry what you need, and probably give you advice too.
