Hello:
I have a bunch of new 35,000V HV capacitors, which are now available for sale, due to my finally having enough door knob style ones to complete the job. Because my VM will be 12-14 stages doorknobs can act as structural components at the same time, so I no longer need these. These are brand new and are of high quality Japanese, and not Chinese manufacture.
These capacitors were made in Japan by a subsidiary of Panasonic, they were originally designed for use in projection TV HV switching power supplies. They are rated as follows:
Peak Voltage = 35KV / 35,000V (Tested at 120% of rated V x 1 min.) Capacitance = 3000pF, or 3nF Construction = Metal Foil / Polymer Dielectric (Encapsulated)
The pricing is: $6 USD each, or 10 for $50. All orders from this forum come with free shipping in the US, for overseas I can send them first class air mail, which is cheap, because these are light in weight.
I have about 60+ total of these available. Paypal, MO, or check if fine. I will wait for personal checks to clear, unless it is a postal MO in which case I can ship upon receipt. Please try to make contact for all orders, I do not check the forum every day, not enough time, but I try to check my mail a few times a week.
These are perfect for voltage multipliers, filters etc. They are about 2 inches long, and 1/2 inch thick, by about 1.5 inches wide, with flat sides, and a wire lead at each end. I built a 120KV FWVM with some of these a while back by using PP perf. board, and nylon zip ties, then I then plopped the whole thing in oil. It is still working just now sealed in a PVC oil filled pipe. I have some more PP (Poly-Propylene) perf board strips available if you want them for $1 each per 2 x 12" strip, with sides cut to 45deg.
