Hi everyone,
I have recently completed scopeboy's TL494 based flyback driver -- schematic here: for audio modulation:
I have not connected the audio jack for audio modulation yet(read questions below), and i also have yet to connect the fullbridge as i still got to drill holes into a cpu heatsink and bolt them down.
Pictures also attached.
Parts description: 1)The big (short)potentiometer-dead time control (duty cycle)
2)the small (long)potentiometer-frequency control
3)two switches-one for audio modulation, the other for normal operation (actually I could have used a spdt switch - didn't think of that when i bought the switches)
4)The 2 small heatsinks hold the 2 R1560P2 fast-recovery power diodes. (D2, D5) The rest of the diodes i used UF5406.
5)Mosfets for the fullbridge - i used 4 pieces IRFZ46N mosfets.
Questions: 1)Not very sure, but what is the 2.2u 100v unpolarised capacitor for? (the one right next to the fbt in the schematic)
2)Also, if i add an unpolarised capacitor in parallel with the flyback primary coil, will there be an increase in performance? Maybe it must resonate with the flyback primary for a tank circuit with same Fres as the fullbridge output then good?
3)I also need to know, the pinout for a 3.5mm TRS connector for the audio modulation - which 2 pins (of the tip, ring and sleeve) are used, and which is the audio+ and audio com line?
4)Finally, what would be a "safe-ish" voltage to run the fullbridge at (IRFZ46N mosfets V(ds) only 55v),
5)and how much current would this circuit draw?(what is current draw determined by?)
