I had a 13 hour shoot for a 3 part pilot for Discovery USA last weekend. Will screen in Feb prime time with the title of "Is it possible". Neil Thomas flew out to direct this using my usual cameraman, Dean Lomax. My 5-7 min segment will lead off the third 1 hour episode.
Filmed my usual Faraday cage stuff in front of the big TC, along with the sparks in the pool stunt and exploding watermelons (a new thing for me).
An exhausting 18 hour day for me finishing at 2am. Not a very sociable time for Tesla coils. They took 4 hours of disc on one camera and 3 hours on the other.

The watermelon explosion used a 15 thou exploding iron wire threaded through it. I passed 10kJ (around 11kV 225uF) through it. I don't have access to their video but here are the first few frames of my camera running at 0.2 secs per frame. It shot at 1/800th sec and was in good focus. Note the shower of sparks and smoke out of each end of the watermelon in the first frame.
