i have some questions about IGBT's in SSTC
i read some of the posts in the forum about using IGBT's. and i learned this:
- most of the coils using IGBT's have low Fres like around 100kHz - you need fast IGBT's, small rise and fall time. - that IGBT's don't like to switch inductive loads. but rather loads in resonance.
now i was able to scavenge some IGBT's from an old frequency regulator.
the IGBT's are MG15J6ES40 (600V / 15A) here's a datasheet link :
http://pdf1.alldatasheet.com/datasheet-pdf/view/119580/TOSHIBA/MG15J6ES40.html
would i be able to use those IGBT's for my SSTC with a Fres around 280 kHz. the rise time is 300ns typical, fall time is 180ns typical ?
and should i add a TVS like in a DRSSTC. or are the internal diodes good enough ?
(srry for the lots of topics lately but i'm working a lot on my SSTC lately, i want to make it as powerfull as i can)
