So I ended up having a new tank made from scratch. It's 16 in diameter and 36 in tall. The walls are 1/8th in carbon steel and the two end caps are flat but 1/2 in thick. The guy building it is worried about the main cylinder collapsing under vacuum but I don't think that it's a problem. What do you guys think? It's going to be at a pressure of no lower than 10^-6 Torr.
