I am looking for a used rotary spark gap. Im a little gun shy of building another one since my first exploded and I had to go to the emergency room for shrapnel removal. What happened was when I drilled the rotating disk it weakened it enough so that it couldnt handle half its rated speed. Its all good though since I got some bad-ass scars from the ordeal =).
It needs to be rated for at least 15KV 30mA 450W but, 15KV 90mA 1350W would be great! Small motor would be good too since my outlets are 115V 60Hz 15A 1725W.
I dont have much $ but, I can pay you. Depending on your design I may not need your motor.

That sounds like a nasty accident, but you really need to be more careful with that. You could have been blinded (is that correct past tense usage?), and if the disk was big enough and high enough speed, it could possibly kill you, by going through your eye. Next time consider the consequences, and even if the rsg is wayyy over built, WEAR SAFETY GLASSES, no exceptions.
But enough preaching.
Do you want sync or async? What breakrate?
EDIT: deleted the question that was clearly already answered in the original post.
I can make a srsg. I already have the modified motor, i have some heatsink holders for these really thick tungsten tipped electrodes, and i have some tungsten rods. I would really rather not trade this, because i will not be held liable if you take your chances with this one. Then again, people trade NSTs and pole pigs, which will kill you alot easier.
Let me know what you think. You say you don't have alot of money, you have anything to trade? I'd be interested in low ESR lytics and ISOTOP IGBTs.
Another edit: Perhaps a smaller srsg is good enough. If you just want 15kv 30ma supply, i can make a smaller one with a microwave fan. There is very little torque, which makes it hard to get it to stay sync, but once you grind it right it works perfectly. Reason i am telling you this is because that means you have to use small electrodes. But, it will work ok with a 15/30 NST im sure, and i can tap the end of the rod or use a screw, and tip the electrode with brass acorn nuts, so when they get eaten all the way up, you can replace them for maybe 50 cents in all, and the srsg should never need to be cleaned and it should live a long life.
