hi i am new here and i want to build a drsstc. i started in hvcomm but since not many people gave much attention i made a account. i am going to start slowly so i am starting with gate drive transformer smile i think it looks pretty good. here is a pic of it.

Hmm, what material did you use for the transformer? For a DRSSTC you will want to use ferrite, that looks like a piece of steel.

hmmmm why do i need ferrite? i tested this ring with a magnet and it is magnetic, i thought thats all that matters?

The type of metal determines how much magnetic flux it can hold, and how fast the material will allow the field in it to be changed.
Here is a rendering I have made that shows the basic idea of GDT construction

One coil is driven, the other 4 connet to MOSFETs or IGBTs.

does twisting the 5 wires together reduce the amount of leakage?

No, it's not.
I would suggest you to first read some theory, and if this is your first coil ever, I would start with something much less complex - such as a spark gap coil or a simple SSTC.

That is not a square wave, so no.

That has way too much thermal paste and is not even mounted. would not even bother with heatsinking it until you have tested its waveforms to be suitable
