maby so but with out an oscilloscope you have no idia whats going on so just changing your circuit may not help. if you have access to ebay and if you know what you are doing a tektronix scope for 150$ is pausible. you won't regret it.

Oh well, i live in Brazil, all the things are expensive in this damn country and i think that eBay negotiations are not easy...
maybe i'll try a circuit without feedback like this one:

What do you think?

that may work. is it pausible to inject a 50-50 square wave into the IR2184 and vary the frequency? what kind of equipment do you have and can get?

i think i'll get a osciloscope , but i don't know when...
i just have a common multimeter.. and i have made a led with resistor for testing if the tank part is oscilating...
works on my Kim Ladha's IH, and it's all working but the only problem is that the IGBT is still getting hot...

Hi all!
i got really nice news!
My IR2153 based IH is working pretty well!
it doesn have a PLL control, but it is ok...
But i think i killed my capacitors, definetively 5x 330nF 630v + 2x 680nF 630v was not a goot choice...
I think i'll try 22x 100nF 630v now...
What do you think?
i got a question about capacitance too...
with higher capacitances i get higher frequencies or lower capacitance higher frequency?
What is better for getting the iron yellow/white, lower frequencies like 100... 160Khz or higher frequencies like 250Khz?
someone have a calculation for the frequency/Capacitance question? what what about calculations for the amperage on each capacitor?
I managed to get vibrant Orange nuts and screws with it already...turning it up with 110v + Caps -> 160v, consumpting about 6A...

Thank you!

the more capacitance the lower the frequency. the higer the frequency the more energy will be deposited into your work bolt but you fets will work harder to. probly 100kHz is good. good progress

nice, and what do you think about a 24x 100nF - 630v Polyester capacitors for this tank...
is this a good choice?

I think you need polypropylene caps...

sorry but i don't have acess to polypropylene capacitors =/

what do you think about 34x 68nF - 630v polyester ones?
