Hey ! i got a picture of the IH
It's ressonant, i can heat a nail that get untouchable with 41vDC @ 7A i think it hits 300ºC but the IGBT dissipators get pretty hot i think it about 60 ºC it's normal? the lines of ressonance that the cell phone camera captures are very equal, they looks like uniform lines running through the screen.. what do you think?

At 35 volts and a few amps a ZVS LOPT driver, even though not great for induction heating, got a nail red in 11 seconds with cold IGBTs. Something is not working right i'd think. A scope would sure be helpful at this point.

I don't meen to dis your setup but the amount of caps in your work circuit is prity feable. Add another dozon caps in parallel with your work coil this will increase current and reduce frequecy. This will have the efect of lowering your ESR in your cap bank for grater circulating current. Right know I think your IGBT is doing all the work. When the work capacitors and coil become resonant there impedance goes up and the IGBT does less work ontill you add your work peace

ok but what abou the capacitance? it doesn't matter? don't need to be something near 3,2uF? because i've used the same capacitors on my previous Mazzili driver, and they heated a lot, when it was working the caps do warm now, but just a little... can i use some diffrent caps with diffrent capacitances just to make a test of that you said?

the types of caps that are used in this part of the circuit are special indeed. the industial celem induction cooled caps are the extream of this and talked about in other threads. these caps have low equivalent series resistance(ESR) and low inductance. Tonskulus might be able to recomend caps to use better than I. All the caps and work indutor will get warm if working proerly. If you can find some polypropylene snubber such as the CDE cap that are used in the DRSSTC's, that will improve the performance. The more caps you put in parallel the lower your ESR and more current

the capacitors that you have chosen in my opinion are not the right type. hear is a website that has a great description and pictures. Can you obtain some poly snubber caps?

Im using 14 x Plessey "KP" -type capacitors. 220nF/1000V. Very good caps for IH duty, stays cool. So far, no cap failures at all.
Another capacitor type I have been using Rifa PHE450. Warms up a little bit but seems to be ok.
However, watercooling is required. I have soldered my caps almost directly to the copper tubes (water cooled). This method keeps capacitor leads cooled.. Previously i didnt have watercooling-->Internal joints of capacitor failed because too much heat was conducted from workcoil to capacitors.

i've saw a lot of people on youtube using capacitor like mine in high power IH's...and theese caps worked on my previous Mazzili IH, i don't have acess to diffrent capacitors, and so , if this circuit only works with very specific caps i think i'll need to try other schematic or topology... What do you think?
