thanks Finn this is exactly what I'm looking for.
today I started to solder the caps between cooper strips but I'll need more powerful soldering tip to make the soldering fast to avoid damaging the caps.
I was thinking to make a parallel plate capacitor stacking many aluminium plates between PP film but I don't Know if it is a viable option because after some calculations I noticed that I'll need more than 20 plates in parallel to reach some interesting capacitance

If it was me I'd stump up the money and by the component designed for the job. You're saving loads of money making your own Induction Heater anyway, so I'd buy the dedicated capacitor now that you have debugged your design. It will save you loads of grief trying to make something yourself.

Hi all , Today I finished the tank capacitor for my series IH .I used some cooper strips and solid cooper wire. the total capacitance is 0.175 uF and the resonant freq. is 174 Khz aprox. the mains current was 5A at 220Vac . the caps worked cool with small flow of air from a cooler . The setup Is a half bridge voltage source inverter with a matching HF transformer with 10:1 ratio . the secondary turn is water cooled. the sec current was 140A so I´m very happy with the results of these caps .I think that I can reach 190 A with a bigger cooler.:) or liquid cooling would be better
for the moment It is hand tuned but I'll use 4046 IC

Thanks Steve, I thought to use LCLR but I decided to use series because my caps wouldn't tolerate much current and because I wanted to try this setup.I like both setups but I would like to test current fed inverter with a parallel tank in future ( when I find a proper power capacitor)
The big toroid is ZP49725 type P material from Magnetics. But now I have to implement a PLL because I hate to stay with a screwdriver to tune it I need to lock the freq slightly inductive to proper working of lossless snubbers caps. You have a pll circuit for your setup or is hand-tuned?
