Another of my expensive hobbies . . . High Power Rocketry.
Anyways, my next project is building a high power rocket which will have (2) external boosters which separate during flight, much like the space shuttle does. The video below shows the first test video of the explosive bolts for booster separation.
The main motor produces about 150 lbs of thrust for 13 seconds while the (2) external boosters have motors which produce 125 lbs of thrust for 4 seconds each.
This rocket will reach a predicted altitude of about 20,000 feet when all said and done.

Probably won't have GPS, but it will be equipped with a RF beacon transmitter which can be tracked using a directional antenna.
The camera i used was a standard Sony HDR camcorder. They have a feature which can record 120fps (at reduced resolution of course), but only for a maximum of 3 seconds and with no sound.
