Conundrum

Hi all.
My expensive >Â£45 soldering station has just fried its third element. Up until it failed he was working fine, turned it on this morning and- nothing.

Elements are failing O/C, but I have no idea why, the thermomcouple is always OK and there are no signs of overheating.

Any ideas? Just fitted a new element and so far so good (need to replace the thermocouple crimp though)
