Question about Dual Mot Power

I saw some videos on YT of coils that worked with a DUAL MOT, and I was half puzzled,
when I saw that used a RSG in the place of the traditional Static gap, as I used in one of my versions ...

Well, I tried to put in my dual mot RSG and to my surprise did not work, the RSG not fired ...

an example of video:

In the first half of video coil run at 2 mot, and In the second half 2 mot with the voltage doubler

Now the question:
When using a RSG in a coil with two mot, it is necessary that the contacts are very close to work? which may be the problem?
