i have a noob question from a noob.
why is it that in static gap, it requires a cap value of 0.015uF for 15kv@60ma while in SRSG, it requires a little bit higher in cap value (0.0273) with the same transformer specification?
can anyone explain it for me?
another is if i have a cap value of 0.015uF for my cap bank but im using a SRSG, will that be OKAY? what will possibly happen if i do that? is there any difference?

I'd imagine it is bigger because the quenching is much better (pretty much perfect, as close as possible) so the spark is extinguished very fast. This means more time for the capacitor to charge, so it can be bigger and still charge up completely. That would give you more bang energy.
Either that or because you want to make sure the transformer does not see too high voltages due to the static gap not always being in the same position to short it out before the voltage rises too high. The above explanation, though vague, sounds more likely.
