Good day fellow coilers!

Last weekend Dr. Spark and I (along with fellow coiler Huben from Bulgaria) performed a successful audition of the new Audiotesla MKIIc Xpression DRSSTC Controller. We are effectively able to control the bit-rate and duration of a DRSSTC Tesla Coil in real time, giving the music more expression.

Hope you enjoy!

I don't know if it's just me, but the sounds played by the coil sound like they aren't in sync with the music played in the background.

You are correct about the delay. It's the latency in the sound card from the computer through the PA....There is a mega delay unless connected to a MIDI sound module; then eveything is in sync.

Dr. Hank, to reduce latency you should check out a pro soundcard that supports ASIO. The M-Audio Transit is the cheapest I know of.

Also, good sequencer software should have a delay setting to compensate latency and bring your MIDI back into sync with your audio.

Yes, I did enjoy.
And am amazed how you can recite that long speach without one moment of hesitation.

Steve,

Thank you for the valuable info. Since we are using a laptop computer for portability, I also considered using my Alesis delay unit (programmable fo up to 1 sec) as a last resort, because it is built into the PA system. I also found out that using a keyboard in the MIDI stream insted of the PC's sound card eliminates this issue as well. Thanks again.

Henry
