I am looking to build my first DRSSTC, but I don't have the means to make the required PCB's myself. I was wondering if any of you know of some good online PCB fabricators. Thanks.

you can get a kit to make PCBs from a Radioshack - and if there is a Fry's or other electronics store that sells parts, they likely have the items to make PCBs as well

I had mine made here: Link2

You download their software, design your board, email the files back to them. It's relatively simple...

There are many others out there...

Hmmm, $233+ at express PCB is quite expensive. I may have to go with Radioshack, or some other website.

You can use EAGLE CAD to design your board, then send it into Link2, fairly cheap.

Just depends if you want to go through a hassle. I found it extreamly easy to make my board. I just laser printed to gloss paper, Ironed it, and chemical it. Not 1 single flaw, and I found it so easy that I plan to do another soon. It's just a hassle to toy around with Ferric Chloride, preparing the area, for me..dragging electrical cords to the street for an agitator, and so on.

How large a board are you designing?

For Express PCB's "standard" board service (the lowest cost option), the pricing formula is:

$55 + ($0.65 * NumberOfBoards * BoardAreaInSquareInches) + ($1.00 * NumberOfBoards) + Shipping

Even for a very large board (8" X 10"), the cost per board would be only $108, plus shipping.

For a board of moderate complexity, with a size similar to the Eastern Voltage Research Plasmasonic controller board (4.5" X 6.75"), the cost would be $76.

Of course you can add extra cost options (solder mask, silkscreen, etc), but for a prototype board these are basically cosmetic enhancements and have no effect on the functionality of the board.

Herr Zapp

The size of the board is not known yet.

I just want to get a general idea of what it will cost, and what websites to look at.

Thanks to everyone for the suggestions!
