Radioshack has a bridge rectifier that should be able to handle that transformer. click here

There are alot of DC arc welders out there and also selectable ac/dc arc welders. They have different characteristics like ease of start, splatter, etc...
I suggest ebay. You wont get any warranty but there are typicaly some good deals to be had. I bought 5 stud mount diodes for my coilgun projects on ebay for $7.50 (for the lot) and they are 800V 85A rated with surge rating a couple thousand amps.
