I need a very large SCR for a ~5kj capacitor bank i am making. The calculated peak current is around 14Ka at 800 volts, for 0 resistance and 50mh of inductance. Even though it might see very low resistance and inductance, i am sure this will never happen. Exploding foil and steel wool and maybe small dead caps is the least resistive load i would do.
If someone has a used SCR (i could try to parallel 2, but at this current i would say current sharing would cause damage to the SCRs) that works fine, that would be best as i have a tight budget. I am not buying at this very moment, but soon.
UPDATE: I actually need an SCR that can handle at least 1800 volts, at more like 15-20Ka. this is 6kj, not 5, i miscalculated.
