Seems weird to post it here but hey, its an issue! 3 months ago my camera started to make a weird noise when I zoom. After zooming 1-2 times, the motor gets louder and makes this annoying loud motor sound when i zoom in and out. Almost like its having power or torque issue. It doesnt sound like a good sound. It still zooms fine, it's just VERY annoying! And yes, the batteries are new! What could have caused this? I rather not get it fixed because labor will be a ton on the fixing price for such a simple motor issue. Any thoughts? It's just like the regular zooming sound, and it starts to latterly amplify louder.
I wish to get it fixed so if I want to record a video for a project, you don't hear WREEEEEEERRR every time I zoom in or out. It's always fine the first zoom, normal sounding. And focusing (picture taking) like macro focus, doesn't make it, because It's like not the motors for the lens, its like the ones that turn the main zoom of the lens.
