Well the Modern Thinker was good but was never really a WOW project for me. It scored 1 TV, 1 radio, 3 newspaper, 4 magazine, 60 sites and 1000 Diggs but I am still looking for the big one.
Maybe I have found it in a "Eureka" moment while cycling yesterday (Always a good thinking time for me).
The things that it will be positive about it:

It will have great public appeal, particularly to kids, public shows etc.
Be transportable (ie overseas shows are possible/TV studios and I might push for that)
Be spectacular in real time but will lend itself to long exposures as well which will look even better.
Has many variations but in its standard form will involve many of the technologies i have already used
Is unique in it's own right but uses at least two techniques that have not been done before
Uses equipment and tech that I have already, with ability to upgrade substantially. It already looks like it will use parts from 4 major projects of mine.
No major single cost as I have a lot of it already.

I'm pretty excited about it but it is a BIG and complex project and looking at 6 months plus to get to prototype stage.

Sorry no more details now or even hints. I will probably start showing part details or specific aspects along the way once I am well into construction but with a final reveal all date when completed.

I am pleased to report that I have commenced construction and have actually a physical shape. Glad to get some action on this at last. Still a huge amount of planning but I can see the feasibility. Taken some intial photos too. I have to design with the ability to dismantle for portability as well which poses extra challenges.

Anyway, just a heads up to say I am onto it and that is is not just hot air (well maybe some of it is). Eventually I will be able to give some details and the final "reveal" in a coordinated release to the big websites.

Thank goodness MadsKaiser can wait. I was worried...

Hah. An interestig thought. Trouble is that only about 10% of the gas from the launcher gets into the ring. Probably better would be a vortex generator that made longitudinal vortices like a mini tornado. But no...
Perhaps I'll try that as a Mark II aftermarket performance add-on. I should have a word to Jim Lux who used to be involved with a tornado machine.

An argon TC tornado would be pretty damn cool. Put that on the back burner, I might want to take a stab at it.
