well it doesn't look like it can throw a tennis ball yet, but probably because of my primitive switch to the coil (the green screwdiver) - I hope the SCR will make things better (I didn't setup because it takes 1.5V and I don't have it yet)
I'll probably cut this screw in half too (and attach some non-metalic part to hit the ball) and I plan to use LM311 as suggested by Camel on the other thread
I'm using 2 680x200V (charging at 110V AC, so it goes up to around 160V) and a 16 AWG, 200 turns coil
