Hello all. I just got some 942C .56uf 1600v capacitors, and they arrived. I have one question: The capacitors came in bags, with paper slips. On the paper slips, the date was stamped "1997" This could mean it was packaged in 1997, or made in 1997. Will these still work, without any obvious problems that could occur? I plan on using them in a SGTC and a DRSSTC.
The package also looks worse then the newer ones, it is more yellow, and rough. I will get a picture if anyone wants me to.

The Cornell-Dubilier 942C series capacitors are not "metallized film".
They are actually "hybrid" film-foil capacitors with a "floating" center section of metallized film, which provide the "self-healing" capability in case of a dielectric puncture caused by overvoltage. The foil electrodes allow a very robust metal-metal connection where the leads attach, which is the weakest point of rolled film capacitors using metallized film construction.
The Cornell-Dubilier 940C series capacitors use true metallized film construction.
