Hey everybody. I am finally begining my journey into the realm of solid state electronics. I have officially begun construction on my Mini SSTC.

Tonight I received my PCB from BatchPCB and I am very pleased with the results. I would highly recommend them.

I soldered my power circuitry and did a little test to see how everything was working. I have to admit I am still a bit suprised when I flip the switch and actually see 12v and 5v... very cool.

Anyways, I will be busy over the next couple of weeks so progress will be slow... My main issue right now is finding some time to design the base for this thing. I have resources for cutting the material, but I need to draw it first. Next week I will be etching my halfbridge with my physics professor. Then once the base enclosure is complete, final assembly and testing!

I am looking for some PC boards as I don't have the tools to make my own. Do you think you could send me a link to your supplier? This is what is holding me back from completing my first SSTC. I would greatly appreciate it.

Got a revised layout of the halfbridge. Take a look and tell me what you think.

Are the traces too close? I did a DRC with eagle, no issues... each trace is 1.5mm apart

The big gray square is an old CPU heatsink with a fan attached. Its gonna keep those fets nice and cool.
