Of course if you wanted to do it properly, and there is space in the consumer unit, add a new 32A breaker and wire a 32A ceeform /BS4343 socket to it. with 4mm^2 cable.
I think this is the best idea. i really dont reccomend removing fuses and replacing them with solid links or wiring in to double plugs. Your ring main will be rated at a maximum of 32A, so unless you unplug every other applience on the circuit you will still risk over loading it. The cable for a ring main should be 2.5mm twin & earth rated at 16A but the fact that it is a ring and there are two cables run will bring the rating up to 32A.
Get an aproved electrician to install a dedicated 32A or 40A supply for you. if there is not enough room in the consumer unit/fuse panel then an additional mini consumer can be fitted.
Please dont bodge it, i've had to fix plenty of melted cables where electric showers etc. have overloaded the wiring, its a messy job, having the cables chased out of the plaster and replaced if you burn them out.
