I thought since I never posted these pictures to other people besides Arkstarter and PlasmaLover, I'd share.
Recently, I took apart a Technica SA-203, 195W AM/FM stereo receiver. It felt heavy, and I could see the ~6-8 pound transformer (our scale SUCKS, I have to weigh my self, then add the transformer) So, Here's some stuff I found.. (I didn't use pics because I thought a Large megapixel would be too much on a thread...)
First, 2 capacitors! No tubes, :( (from stereo)
The biggest heatsink I own (from stereo)
The transformer (stereo) About (10V)(28V)(38V)(56V)(77V) when Rectified + filter capped
Others (Flyback core, 555 timer, and mini tesla) Now, This was my first coil for a tesla. It does suck with the coiling but Hey. I got the magnet wire from a wallwart. Not a big lost to me, No testing done with new power + varnish. my mosfet DIED!!! -- Note to self, 77V == flyback 5 inch arks == dead mosfet.
I'm not afraid to loose a flyback from 77V. I got 24 of them o.O
