This might be relevant to you guys, seems that there is a new trojan going round called Psyb0t that can compromise and infect Netgear routers as well as many others.
Once on the router it cannot be removed except with a full reset, and some require the firmware to be reflashed.

If you haven't already done so, change the password on the router to something other than "password" or "letmein" etc, I use alphanumeric codes of several tens of digits "just to be sure"....
Also its well worth "nuking from orbit" and reflashing the router if possible with the latest firmware from the manufacturers (double and triple check version*) then do a full reset and enter the settings including DNS manually, then lock down wifi and WAN remote access.
