Hi all. Can you please share your print head unclogging/resurrecting tricks? :)
I've tried reverse flushing (put head in DI water, pull vacuum on it), IPA flushing etc. Five of the six heads now mostly work but *6 (black) on the far left doesen't want to budge. Half the nozzles are solidly blocked.
Printer is a Photo 1400 and has had a CIS system fitted and someone left it for months without using it :(
Thanks in advance.
BTW I also have a CX3200 here with similar problems, also has a mechanical issue with it smacking the head against the end stops.

I have an old canon portable bubblejet printer, where you can remove the printing head, and then remove the ink tank from the head itself. It had totally dried up after about 3 years. I had absolutely no sucess unblocking it with solvents or anything like that, but here's what did work: Boil the kettle and make a strong solution of boiling water and bleach in a shallow container (like a bowl) then simply sit the printing head in the solution and leave it for a few mins, then repeat if needed, then do it one final time without bleach. I ended up dunking the entire assembly in the bleach solution, but after rinsing and drying it properly it still worked. I was amazed to find that once dried and loaded with a refilled ink cartridge, the printhead was entirely functional with all jets working! Let me know if this works, it's a bit last resort and could wreck the printhead but might be worth a try?!

I clean my lexmark print heads with an ultrasonic jewelery cleaner with a solution of water and amonia. Bought the ultrasonic cleaner at wal-marts for 20 bux.
Try the Dry-Erase Board cleaner available in small pump sprayers at office supply stores - a cotton swab wetted wiped, and/or left to soak across my Epson non-remove heads did the job quickly.
(Butyl Cellosolve, n-Butyl Cellosolve, ethylene glycol monobutyl ether, n-butoxyethanol are all the same major ingredient)
